Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Nursery

Welcome to Our 3-Year-Old Nursery at Oasis Limeside

At Oasis Limeside, we provide a warm, nurturing, and stimulating Early Years environment for children aged 3–4. Our provision is led by a highly qualified teacher and supported by an experienced, caring team who are passionate about giving every child the best possible start to their education.

Children are welcomed into our nursery the term after their 3rd birthday (September, January, or after Easter). From their very first day, children become part of a supportive community where their wellbeing, curiosity, and early learning are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Early Years Approach

Our curriculum is shaped by the EYFS Framework, ensuring that every child develops the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need for future learning. We offer a balance of child‑initiated play and carefully planned adult‑guided experiences, all designed to build on children’s interests and next steps.

The Prime Areas of Learning

These areas form the foundation of all children’s development:

Communication and Language

  • Rich conversations, storytelling, songs, and rhymes
  • Vocabulary development through high‑quality interactions
  • Opportunities to listen, respond, and express ideas confidently

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

  • Building positive relationships and social skills
  • Developing independence, resilience, and self‑regulation
  • Supporting children to understand and manage their emotions

Physical Development

  • Strengthening fine and gross motor skills
  • Outdoor exploration and active play
  • Developing coordination, balance, and healthy habits

The Specific Areas of Learning

Once children are secure in the Prime Areas, we extend their learning through the four Specific Areas:

Literacy

  • Sharing stories, poems, and non‑fiction books
  • Developing early phonological awareness
  • Encouraging mark‑making and early writing
  • Building comprehension through discussion and play

Mathematics

  • Developing number sense and counting skills
  • Exploring patterns, shapes, and measures
  • Using mathematical language in meaningful contexts

Understanding the World

  • Exploring nature, seasons, and simple scientific ideas
  • Learning about families, cultures, and communities
  • Investigating materials and the world around them
  • Using technology safely and purposefully

Expressive Arts and Design

  • Creative exploration with a range of materials
  • Imaginative role play and storytelling
  • Singing, dancing, and making music
  • Developing artistic expression and confidence

These areas are woven into our continuous provision, ensuring children learn through purposeful play, exploration, and high‑quality interactions.
