Enrichment
Enrichment – The REAL Project
The REAL programme (Raising Early Achievement in Literacy) is an intervention that works with practitioners (usually in the early years) to support children’s early literacy development. The programme aims to help practitioners to build parents’ knowledge and confidence in creating a home learning environment that supports and encourages children’s reading, writing and oral language. Our dedicated staff select a number of children each year to take part in this project, we run termly parent workshops that aim to raise early achievement in literacy. We also visit the homes of our families once a term and complete literacy activities with the children in their homes. This project is very popular and very successful. Please look at the photos below to see our recent home visits and parent events.
Enrichment – 50 Things to Do
At Oasis Limeside we are also involved in an Oldham based Initiative called the 50 things to do before you are 5. This is an exciting opportunity to experience 50 things before your child is 5. This is an app based incentive and all you are required to do is download the app onto your mobile phone or tablet. You will then be sent regular updates of activities and events to go to and complete with your child throughout the year.
The link to this amazing initiative is below so please download it for your children as the early years is such an important developmental time.
Enrichment – Other Enrichment opportunities
Children at Oasis Limeside also enjoy joining in with weekly celebration assemblies and fundraising activities throughout the year such as comic relief, children in need and world book day. We also run Spring, Summer and Winter fairs that all children across school enjoy. These are very popular throughout the year and we have a great turn out by all.
