We have just been awarded £10,000 to help us turn our grey spaces green !!!!!
We have been working hard over the past few months applying for grants and different funding to help us continue to improve our learning environments and resources indoors and outdoors.
Today we have received the most amazing news that our application has been successful and we have been awarded £10,000!
This money will be used to help us change our ’grey’ landscape of human-made areas back to natural ‘GREEN!’
We will change parts of our playground to create homes for wildlife to move in and flourish. Natural habitats boost well-being, calmness and coolness on a site and can improve water drainage and climate resilience.
We will work with the children to review our pathways, playground, fences and unused concrete corners and start imagining a much greener space where we can work and learn.
We will start with the flowing six principles to help us start planning:
Pools of water
Waves of grasses
Buffets of flowers
Shades of trees
Cascades of green walls
Catch every drop
We are incredibly grateful to National Education Nature Park and Climate Action Awards for their support in helping us on our journey to provide our children with an outdoor space they can be proud of! £10,000!!!
